The Boy Next Door

J-Lo needs to understand that fact that she cannot act, I'm sorry. When I was watching this, it felt like someone was rubbing their shit in my face. Below is a little synopsis of the kind of stench we're dealing with here;

When a handsome, charming teenager named Noah (Ryan Guzman) moves in next door, newly separated high-school teacher Claire Peterson (Jennifer Lopez) encourages his friendship and engages in a little bit of harmless -- or so she thinks -- flirtation. Although Noah spends much of the time hanging out with Claire's son, the teen's attraction to her is palpable. One night, Claire gives in to temptation and lets Noah seduce her -- but when she tries to end the relationship, he turns violent.

Sound familiar? Same old shit, that stinks real bad and is now all over my face. Gone Girl was different, original, something mysterious and thrilling about it. It's the woman in Gone Girl who goes completely berserk, and she was not violent towards her husband, she was cunning. Mentally cunning.

This is a movie, that came out this year, with a completely cliched narrative. Temptation. Obsession. Mistakes. These three words define this movie in the best ways. It also describes the original sin pretty well. Eve tempted to pluck an apple from the forbidden tree. Satan's obsession with disobeying God. Eve's mistakes by giving in to temptation. This is where the originality comes from. A good plot twist would rate this movie higher. Twist the original story, like the twisted rope wrapped around my throat. Perhaps I'd have a shot at survival, I wouldn't have to take my own life. Those 91 mins might actually be worth something.

IMDB: 4.6

I think this is my first negative review.
