Jurassic World
Synopsis: Located off the coast of Costa Rica, the Jurassic World luxury resort provides a habitat of an array of genetically engineered dinosaurs, including the vicious and intelligent Indominus rex. When the massive creature escapes, it sets off a chain reaction that causes the other dinos to run amok. Now, it's up to a former military man and animal expert (Chris Patt) to use his special skills to save two young brothers and the rest of the tourists from an all-out, prehistoric assault.
Watching Jurassic Park (1993) as a kid was always an enthralling watch. Now, 22 years later, I'm able to revisit the Jurassic world that I once admired. Dinosaurs were an intriguing animal, beast, creature, call it what you will, but they just made everyone stop and watch for a moment. They had the most bizarre behaviours, and frankly dangerous thoughts. I enjoy my imagination. It takes me back millions of years to where Dinosaurs actually existed on this Earth. Imagine what the lands were like with these animals roaming around, claiming the planet before us. Imagine the types of Dinosaurs. I always had one image of a dinosaur, it would always have that regular shape of a curved back with a tail connected to the back. It would have triangular scales, and two front arms that were smaller than the two back legs. This was how I used to draw a dinosaur. I'd always associate the name "Rex" with a dinosaur as well. But as I've matured and grown, from a 6 year old to a 17 year old, I still don't know a damn thing. So in terms of my knowledge of dinosaurs, I'm basing it all from what I've seen in movies - like I do all the time.
Jurassic World, for me, was one of those movies that were mind-blowing with seat-of-the-pants thrills. It took 124 mins from me that was worth my time. Chris Patt stars as Owen, and I can watch almost anything if he's in it. Even though the dinos were computerised, they looked so authentic. More authentic than Iggy Azalea. When the deadly dinos went into battle, that is when you forget about the simplicity of the plot, and you're just gripped in your seat, unable to move and watching in terror along with the characters in the movie. The theme park itself was somewhat impressive; a place where I'd definitely love to go minus the escaped dinosaurs. Very futuristic.
IMDB: 7.8
