Poetry 6

My sixth sonnet is about a homosexual man who is in love with another man, but they hide their relationship from society and meet in secretive place. The protagonist admits that he is gay but doesn't admit it to his parents.

Adam & Adam
I am in love with a man named Harry.
We meet in a forest, under a tall tree.
When we kiss I feel so unbelievably free;
we feel so open with no burden to carry.
When I return home, I'm a closed book,
I feel like I'm a mouse trapped in a box.
I stay isolated as if I have chicken pox.
My parents give me that awkward look.
The one they give when they have their suspicions,
that their son might possibly and horrifically be gay.
That time when I have absolutely no nerves to say,
that I'm a man in love with extra conditions.
When I'm with Harry, I lose all of my breath.
Stay away from him? I'd rather choose death.
